Harvick crashes at Darlington finishes 39th

Kevin Harvick of Bakersfield has been running at the end of 55 consecutive races, the longest active streak in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. That is just three races away from the modern era record, also held by Kevin (set from 10/03/02 - 08/01/04).

On Saturday night in Darlington, Kevin looked to have a solid run going as he climbed up to fourth position in the early running. He would have to settle for a 39th-place finish, however, after smacking the wall hard. The No. 29 Shell-Pennzoil pit crew worked feverishly to get Kevin back on the track, and their efforts paid off as they finished running and earned precious additional points. He is currently ninth in NSCS points.
