The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s assistance in identifying suspects who are wanted for an attempt murder that occurred on December 21st, 2013 in Lamont. On December 21st, 2013 at about 6:55 pm a male victim was walking near the intersection of Harold Street and Ralph Avenue in Lamont. As the victim walked in the area he was approached by 5-7 Hispanic male suspects dressed in dark hooded sweatshirts and jeans. One of the suspects asked the victim where he was from and then the suspects began assaulting the victim with knives and metal pipes. During the assault the victim was stabbed several times and sustained major life threatening injuries. He was treated at a local hospital and continues to be hospitalized due to his injuries. During the investigation detectives determined the assault was possibly gang related and involved members of a Lamont street gang. The Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in identifying the suspects involved in the assault.
